I’ve had my 2017 Nissan Rogue for about five years now and it’s been a great family car, but I’ve always been aware of the reputation these CVT transmissions have for failing, and I think my luck might finally be running out. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed a high-pitched whining noise that gets louder as I accelerate, and there’s a noticeable hesitation when I try to merge onto the highway, like the engine revs up but the car doesn’t accelerate as quickly as it should. I took it to a general garage and they confirmed it’s likely the transmission starting to fail, but they couldn’t give me a clear answer on whether it needs a full replacement or if there’s a cheaper fix like a valve body or solenoid replacement. I’ve been reading up on these CVT issues and apparently sometimes a simple fluid change with the correct Nissan fluid can help, but other times it’s too late and the damage is already done. I’m really stressed about this because the car still has some value and I don’t want to sink a huge amount into repairs that might not even fix the problem long-term. A colleague mentioned that transmission repair sharjah has some specialists who actually rebuild these CVTs rather than just replacing them, which can be more cost-effective if the damage isn’t too extensive. I’m planning to get a proper diagnostic done this week to see exactly what I’m dealing with, but I’m honestly terrified of what the quote might be. Has anyone else gone through a CVT failure on their Nissan and managed to get it sorted without spending a fortune? I’d really appreciate any advice or recommendations because I feel completely lost here.
