Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site (MMS) is looking for an Aircraft Quality Inspector to join our team in Mobile, AL. The Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft is located at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, opened in 2015, producing A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry and is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond. The position is responsible for the execution and confirmation of quality inspections as part of the production process. Essential functions include executing technical inspections in the production process of the aircraft in the context of the authorization of manufacturer operation; preparing and performing visual, incoming, first article, final inspections during aircraft manufacture for compliance with design specifications, customers and certification requirements; documenting the technical inspections performed in SAP-based production orders and SAL-based IT systems by inspection marks and completing other aircraft documents as well as preparing first article inspection reports; supporting troubleshooting and participating in Quality Survey requests; compiling all technical data of non-conformance to launch SAP-based quality discrepancy sheets for professional assessment in accordance with manufacturing engineering documentation; documenting all results of the technical inspector in the SAP based IT system; and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications include preferred 3 years of experience as a Quality Inspector in an international aviation company or equivalent; knowledge of Quality Management Systems; knowledge of drawing systems, inspection plans, and inspection coordination; knowledge of principles, practices, methods and tools used in the production line; handling and use of inspection tools (mechanical, optical, and electrical). Education/Special Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Quality Management Systems (QMS) experience; preferred FAA Airframe & Powerplant License including inspection authorization; airline experience is desirable. Physical requirements include adequate vision, hearing, speaking ability, equipment operation, ability to work at heights and confined spaces, lifting and carrying up to 55lbs, and ability to travel domestically and overseas.
