Financial Analyst | Battle Creek, MI

Salary Range: $64,000 - $97,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, including direct labor, materials, and overhead, to identify efficiencies and cost reduction opportunities.
• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, incorporating production volumes and capacity.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis between actual manufacturing costs and budgeted/standard costs, providing actionable insights.
• Evaluate capital expenditure requests for new equipment or facility upgrades, performing ROI and payback period analyses.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and dashboards for operational management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production and inventory.
• Support the monthly close process by analyzing inventory valuations, cost of goods sold (COGS), and production variances.
• Perform profitability analysis by product line, customer, or manufacturing plant to support strategic decision-making.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial planning software.
• Proficiency in cost accounting principles and analysis within a manufacturing environment.
• Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation, analysis, and dashboard creation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with major manufacturing ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O).
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or other continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma).
• Understanding of supply chain finance and inventory management best practices.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for operational and financial reporting.
