The Role:

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior SDET II (Software Development Engineer in Test) to join our dynamic Quality Engineering team. In this pivotal role, you'll leverage your deep understanding of application architecture and infrastructure to ensure the robust quality of our platform.

You'll be instrumental in driving the development of advanced test frameworks and tools, and will explore innovative GenAI capabilities to revolutionize our test harnesses and dashboards. This is a hybrid role. Only candidates who currently live in the SF Bay Area, CA will be considered for this role. You must be able to work on-site at our San Mateo, CA HQ twice per week.

• Infrastructure & System Testing: Own and execute infrastructure testing across the entire platform, including critical service upgrades (e.g., MongoDB, Python, Nginx) to ensure stability and compatibility.
• Architectural Understanding: Comprehensively understand and analyze the application's end-to-end architecture to proactively identify integration and regression risks
• Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust automation test frameworks, including API/UI test harnesses, comprehensive integration frameworks, and precise component-level validation tools
• Reporting & Analytics: Build and enhance advanced reporting dashboards to provide actionable insights into test coverage, failure rates, regressions, and quality trends
• GenAI Innovation: Research, integrate, and develop GenAI-driven features to enable intelligent test generation, automated validation, and advanced debugging support, pushing the boundaries of our QA capabilities
• SDLC Integration: Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and DevOps teams to embed quality practices and considerations throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Test Strategy Ownership: Define and own comprehensive test strategies for backend services, complex distributed systems, and cloud-native components
• Continuous Improvement: Identify gaps in existing test coverage, lead initiatives to reduce certification time, and proactively work to minimize false failures. Drive continuous improvement of our test automation infrastructure and tools
• Proactive Quality Assurance: Investigate customer-reported issues thoroughly and proactively develop automated validations to prevent future regressions

• 8+ years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance (QA) and Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) roles, with a proven track record of hands-on experience in infrastructure-level testing and developing robust test frameworks
• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and complex integration patterns
• Demonstrated experience with MongoDB and other essential cloud-native infrastructure components
• Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining test automation frameworks using Python, Java, or JavaScript (e.g., Cypress, Selenium)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Docker
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Solid knowledge and practical experience in performance, scalability, and observability testing
• Exceptional debugging skills with the ability to deeply investigate logs, stack traces, and complex service interactions to pinpoint root causes
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams

• Experience with data integration platforms, enterprise SaaS solutions, or tools similar to SnapLogic
• Prior ownership and development of test reporting dashboards using tools like Grafana, Kibana, or custom front-end solutions
• Knowledge of DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture), documentation frameworks, or API documentation generation pipelines
• Experience integrating or developing with Generative AI (GenAI) capabilities (e.g., OpenAI APIs) for QA innovation is a strong plus and highly valued

$150,000 - $160,000 a year

The above range is the approximate annual U.S. base pay range for this position. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, experience and expertise, and may vary from the range listed. In addition to base salaries, certain roles are also eligible for annual cash bonuses or commissions. All of our full time employees get stock options and a comprehensive benefits package.
