Job Description

Overview:

This position is responsible for overseeing both internal detailing staff and external vendors, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and fostering strong relationships with customers and project stakeholders. The role plays a critical part in upholding our commitment to quality, safety, customer service, and team development by driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and alignment with the company’s core values and culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Assign detailing tasks to internal staff and external vendors to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective project completion.
  • Monitor productivity and quality of all detailing work to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and customer expectations.
  • Oversee and manage the relationship with external detailing vendors, ensuring high-quality deliverables, cost control, and timely invoicing.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between detailing personnel and customers to maintain clear communication and proactively resolve any project issues or concerns.
  • Review all contract modifications, change orders, and extras; collaborate with sales to ensure proper billing and customer notification.
  • Investigate and resolve customer back-charges related to detailing issues; coordinate with sales and quality assurance to prevent recurrence.
  • Administer performance evaluations, recommend salary adjustments, and support ongoing professional development for detailing personnel.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of detailer recruitment: sourcing, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training.
  • Stay up to date with technological advancements in rebar detailing (e.g., software tools, 3D modeling) and recommend process or equipment improvements.
  • Ensure exemplary customer service by responding promptly and professionally to calls, meetings, and on-site requests.
  • Foster a collaborative and constructive work environment by encouraging open communication and feedback across teams.
  • Ensure accurate entry of orders and project data into business management system; generate project reports as required.
  • Oversee the submission and tracking of drawings using the drawing management system.

Required Skills:

  • Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting from an accredited institution or equivalent training and experience.
  • Associate’s degree (two-year technical degree) in engineering technology, drafting, or construction management At least three years of experience as a supervisor of detailers.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in rebar detailing or related industry roles.
  • At least 3 years of experience using Rebar CAD or other CAD-based detailing platform s (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, ASA, Soule).
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team lead experience in a detailing or construction environment.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management and resolving project-related issues or disputes.
  • Deep understanding of CRSI and ACI standards, rebar placement, fabrication, and constructability.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team development skills
