Work location & Type: Remote work from home with planned in-office training and meetings in The Woodlands, Tx.

Applicants must have at least 2 recent years of dedicated oncology experience (for example, in an outpatient oncology practice or on a hospital oncology unit) and a valid, active multistate/compact state RN license. Candidate must also live within the Greater Houston area (with ability to drive to The Woodlands, Tx for training and in-person meetings). Candidate is also responsible for providing their own reliable internet connection and HIPAA compliant private workspace within their home.

The Remote Oncology Triage Nurse provides telephonic triage services, assessing patient needs and collaborating with qualified staff to ensure appropriate care. This role involves documenting all care elements in the patient's medical record and accurately identifying high-risk conditions, providing patient education and directing additional care to appropriate resources if necessary. Under general supervision, the nurse delivers professional nursing care adhering to national and organizational standards and guidelines, as well as state licensing board scope of practice. The candidate must recognize the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of patient care and participate in company-wide quality initiatives. This pivotal role supports the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, to ensure patients receive timely and expert guidance, enhancing patient outcomes and satisfaction. Shift is Monday - Friday 7am-4pm CST.
